The Dushu Lake area became a dazzling stage for sports, culture and social engagement during the SIP Golden Autumn ? Three Lakes Carnival this autumn.

Water sports took center stage, with the 2025 Suzhou Dushu Lake Collegiate Paddleboarding Championship attracting nearly 160 participants from 18 higher education institutions. The paddleboarding event integrated a dragon boat race that attracted 11 teams from schools, enterprises and other organizations and a lakeside fair and other activities.

A concert was held under the “Autumn Night in SIP” performing program which was initiated on the right bank of Jinji Lake. The scene of about 5,000 audiences singing along with the performers became an unforgettable memory.

The 4th Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week added an international flair to the area. A photography exhibition scheduled at SKEMA Business School (Suzhou) from October to December showcases China through international students’ lenses, while a French calligraphy exhibition in the China-France School at Renmin University of China highlights females’ voices and artistry.

Other events included French literature-focused small-scale book exhibitions, reading activities and a lakeside poetry recitation, which created serene yet engaging dialogues between Chinese and French cultures and arts.
