Four experts specializing in free trade zone research at Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the Suzhou Academy of Social Sciences gathered at the meeting in the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area (Suzhou FTZ) in SIP on Dec 10, appraising achievements that the FTZ had made in institutional innovation so far this year.

Since its establishment in 2019, this FTZ has carried out 240 institutional innovations that play a pioneering or leading role in Jiangsu province and even the whole country, including 14 being rolled out nationwide and 66 duplicated across Jiangsu province.
This year, the FTZ has made a succession of achievements in institutional innovation, including the facilitating logistics collaboration within the Yangtze River Delta region through the Suzhou Freight Station of Shanghai Airports to accelerate customs clearance and help enterprises reduce costs, and forging a comprehensive online and offline service system to provide precise support for businesses throughout their life circle.

At the event, the experts offered in-depth analysis of the FTZ’s institutional innovation cases based on their strategic value, innovation, effectiveness, potential for duplication and risk controllability, and provided advice for improvement. They believed that many of the cases could be rolled out nationwide.
