SIP Volunteers Association’s branch in Loufeng Sub-district organized an event in Huang Tian Dang Park on Dec 3, marking the International Volunteer Day which is annually observed on Dec 5 worldwide to celebrate the power of volunteerism.

The event consisted of four categories of activities, including volunteer services, interactions and publicity campaigns.

A number of volunteers provided free services such as knife sharpening, clothes mending and medical services on site, while others guided the participants through the fun quizzes, jigsaw puzzle games and idle item exchanges to gain a deep understanding of civilization.

In the DIY zone, many children and their parents made reusable shopping bags and greeting cards, and in the publicity zone, the volunteers offered the participants tips such as those on safety guarantee in daily life, employment and entrepreneurship, women and children’s rights and fitness.

There is also a booth recruiting volunteers on site, calling on residents to join the local volunteers’ team.
