SIG Combibloc (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the world-leading aseptic packaging solution supplier SIG Combibloc Group in SIP, is putting the green development concept into substantial practice.

The SIG Combibloc Asia-Pacific Technical Center, which meets the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum standard and China’s 3-star green building standard, is equipped with water and solar energy recycling systems that enable the company to greatly save energy and reduce carbon emissions.

The company, with an annual output of 13.2 billion packaging products, has invested more than RMB10 million in an organic waste gas control project which, together with its real-time environmental management system, can help reduce organic waste gas emissions by 1,000 tons every year.

Moreover, the company has installed a distributed PV power generation system to supply power for workshops, road lamps running on solar and wind power, and chilled water recycling and rainwater harvesting systems.

In production, the company uses only eco-friendly raw materials which can be recycled. It has also developed new packaging products without an aluminum foil layer for environmental protection purpose. Besides, the company is implementing the Green Supply Chain Management System to join hands with raw material suppliers and other partners to promote sustainable development throughout the whole supply chain.

In addition, the company has organized a long list of events from 2020 to call on its staff and the public to embrace low-carbon lifestyles. Among the events were campaigns aimed at encouraging waste sorting, volunteer services for water conservation, and public lectures on environmental protection and healthcare.
